Anonddo Mobile Medical Unit

Anonddo is raising £8,000 to fund a new mobile medical unit to service remote villages in Northern Bangladesh. For more information please download our information leaflet.

Chinese Earthquake Appeal

Proceeds from the first Anonddo curry night ticket sales, donations and the raffle came to £2100 which Anonddo donated to the Oxfam China Earthquake Appeal. The earthquake in China in May is thought to have killed more than 50,000 people and caused unimaginable devastation to thousands more. The £2,100 will go a long way in the region via Oxfam’s programme of emergency relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction work.

Myanmar Cyclone Appeal

Anonddo's chairman, Tahirul Hassan, collected over £500 from the high streets of Chipping Norton, Witney, Banbury and Oxford. Anonddo is proud to say that every penny collected has been donated to the Myanmar Cyclone Appeal. Please get in touch if you would like to make a donation.

Student Sponsorship

Anonddo has now helped over 100 students since its beginnings in 1997. We hope that with your help we can go on to help a great many more.

Flood Relief, Sylhet

Anonddo brought much needed flood relief to ten of the worst affected villages in Sylhet during the summer of 2007. Five families from each village were given aid to help them start the process of rebuilding their lives.

Achievements of 2007-2008

  • We have financially supported over 100 students who were otherwise unable to cover the cost of their studies.
  • We gave over £1,500 in financial aid for people affected by the Bangladesh cyclone, including providing roofed shelters for those who lost their homes.
  • We provided financial support for nearly 20 weddings that parents had left pending due to being unable to meet the wedding costs.
  • We provided essential needs including food and clothing for the Eid celebrations – one of Bangladesh's biggest religious ceremonies.
  • We built tube wells providing fresh drinking water in areas previously without water supplies.
  • We built and furnished brand new houses (at £2250 per house) for two destitute families.
  • We donated sewing machines to women who are the sole bread winner in order to help them support their families.
  • We contributed medicine to the elderly previously without any other form of support.

We can guarantee to all the generous donators, that all the money that Anonddo does receive is strictly distributed to the most destitute people in Bangladesh. To best achieve this, we have a committee of well respected people locally based in Bangladesh who vet and process all applications thus guaranteeing that the money is only given to those in need. All these people are working as volunteers for the charity.

We can assure that no money is being deducted for any kind of administrative costs. The administration, legal and accountancy cost are all without charge.

Members of Anonddo would thank every one who has helped us over the last many years with their support and donations.
